Birthing Center -
To implement Giving Birth with Integrity, Life Resources Institute brought together a number of partners - Trillium Midwifery, WellSprings and Natural Immune Systems. This two-year project, exploratory in nature, culminated in the development of an integrated birthing center model. /or World Institute Education Committee.
The midwifery model provides a sound foundation upon which to build. Midwifery has withstood the test of time, and continues to be “mainstream” or, at least, a sound alternative in many developed nations. In the United States, however, the midwifery model lies outside the medical paradigm. This, perhaps, is midwifery’s greatest strength, but also its greatest weakness. If a system could be developed whereby midwifery is integrated into the medical model -- without losing its philosophy or integrity -- then this would represent a major achievement for women and for medical science alike. This combined or integrated approach to labor and delivery would serve to strengthen all components.
Health Symposiums -
One of the primary intentions of The World Institute of Holistic Therapies, Inc. (a local non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, founded in 1997) is to educate health care providers and the general public about Biological Medicine and Pleomorphism. We were excited and proud to be able to sponsor, in partnership with Holger Natural Immune Systems (N.I.S.), the Third International Symposium on Pleomorphic Microbes in Health and Disease on Friday and Saturday, March 15th & 16th, 2002 in Ashland, Oregon.
The Third International Symposium on Pleomorphic Microbes in Health & Disease was a unique scientific event. Such a gathering of professionals, devoted to providing a forum for vital exchange of information in the field of Biological Medicine, fill the need in our society for unfettered intellectual and clinical exploration that moves outside the bounds of traditional exploration. The Symposium provided a safe place for researchers and practitioners to gather and connect for the purpose of discovering commonalities in theoretical and philosophical approaches to health and disease.

Natural Health - Knowledge and education on preventive health leads to empowerment, a feeling of being in a higher degree of control. This is especially important among low-income women, especially the single, young, and less educated women. We have created a system of educational material that is useful for outreach workers and nurses in order to educate and dialogue with these women. Each focus-area for this educational program is described in detail below, with references to research studies documenting the biomedical value of the particular focus. Also indicated are the expected health benefits of educating pregnant women in this area.
